What do we treat at the clinic?

Freedom Massage & Lymphedema Clinic provides a variety of therapeutic treatments for: lymphedema and lipedema treatments, injury recovery, post-cancer rehabilitation, post surgical recovery, acute and chronic back injury recovery.

We implement the use of specialized modalities to augment your recovery which may include laser (LLLT), shockwave, TRT (targeted radio frequency), oscillation therapy, EMS (electrical muscle stimulation) PBM – photo biomodulation (full body and targeted), cervical and lumbar spinal decompression, pneumatic bio compression and cryo compression, cupping, TENS, PEMF.

We are registered massage therapists and certified lymphedema therapists providing informed, ethical and compassionate treatment . . . EVERY TIME.

Do we treat lymphedema?

Yes – we treat all forms and stages of lymphedema.

Primary lymphedema is a genetic form of functional and structural disorder of the lymphatic system.
Lymphedema may be caused by secondary issues from trauma to the lymphatic system due to venous insufficiency, surgery, injury, scarring, infection, radiation. Treatment protocols are based on the presentation of the areas involved.

Our lymphedema and compression training are with Klose Training, the Academy of Lymphatic Studies, International Lymphedema and Wound Training Institute, Monarch Education, Dr. Vodder School – International (Vodder 1, 2, 3, lymphedema taping), and Upledger. Compression garment fitter training is from Juzo, Medi, L&R and Jobst for all forms of compression garments.

Do you have certified lymphedema therapists?

Yes – Lymphedema certification is held with Klose Training, the Academy of Lymphatic Studies, International Lymphedema and Wound Training Institute, Monarch Education, and Dr. Vodder School – International (Vodder 1, 2, 3, lymphedema taping).

What is lipedema?

Lipedema is a chronic medical condition characterized by an abnormal buildup of fat and other tissues, primarily in the legs and arms, causing pain, swelling, and other symptoms like easy bruising.

It’s a symmetrical condition, meaning it affects both sides of the body equally. While often mistaken for obesity, lipedema is a distinct disease that can impact daily activities and quality of life.

Lipedema affects almost exclusively women. While there’s no cure, various treatments can help manage symptoms and improve quality of life.

Can I receive treatment while going through active cancer therapy?

It Depends – treatment will be based on many factors, and a full discussion and assessment is performed prior to treatment.

Do I need a doctor’s referral for treatment?

No – the clinic does not require a referral, but – if you are paying for the services through your insurance benefit program, they usually require a medical practitioner’s referral – it is recommended that you check your program.

How far in advance should I book appointments when going for surgery?

As soon as you have a surgery date – contact us to make arrangements for post-surgical recovery.

Two-months in advance is recommended to allow for the necessary appointments.

We treat all forms of post-surgical recovery – specifically oncology, orthopedic and elective plastic surgery (augmentations, reduction, reconstruction), lipedema liposuction procedures.

Are we part of the ADP (Assistive Device Program)?

No – we do not have any involvement with the ADP (Assistive Device Program). The clinic is a certified compression garment vendor when purchasing compression garments or from your insurance provider.
